I started one place ahead of Valentino Rossi after his grid penalty and tried to ride my own race on the Open riders that were in front of me on the grid. In the first laps I was quite attached to the group, but then the bike started to have big problems of chattering and sliding, so big that I risk falling out, that’s why I retired. I want to thank all members of the Team e-motion Iodaracing for the passion that they have in their work, they made me feel immediately a part of them, then I want to thank also Giampiero Sacchi for the opportunity he gave me to race in MotoGP after long time that I didn’t.

I am very happy to be so close to the other riders. I’m only half second far from the Open bikes in front of me. Of course I wanted to do better but to be at this level after only a day and a half on this bike is very good. We were able to work well with the team, the bike is now much easier to drive what we still lack is the rear grip, a better feeling for turning and therefore we’d need to be faster. In these days we worked on the chassis, trying to adapt the bike to my needs and the fact that I went better and better with in every exit is a good sign, for tomorrow we will try to make another step in the electronics during the warm up.
