Reflections on Oschersleben 8 hour where a technical problem ended championship hopes for YART
August 30th, 2016
It was really disappointing because we showed from qualifying that we had the pace to win and we did a great job until the sixth hour when we led the race.We chose to do it with two riders, Marvin and I, and we had a good pace. We knew that to win the championship we only needed to finish second to GMT94, so we just wanted to make consistent lap times and try to keep the lead. If GMT94 would have passed us, it wouldn’t have been a big problem, but unfortunately we had a technical issue which was a major bummer because we were two hours from home. It’s sad for the team and for us, because we were so close to being world champion, but sometimes that happens.

Oschersleben 8hr ends after 192 laps with engine overheating problems with YART R1
August 28th, 2016
We qualified the Yamaha Austria Racing Team R1 on pole position and got a good start, I was battling with GMT94 for the first stint but then we started to pull away and we lead by a lap for 6 and a half hours, my team mate Marvin Fritz was also fast and we'd bought Sheridan (Morais) in at the last minute. We were looking good for the win and that would have been the world championship but an hour and a half from the finish the engine overheated for the second time and we could not continue. I'd been fastest on track all weekend so its really dissappointing, hopefully 2017 will be our year and that starts at Paul Ricard in 3 weeks.

Reflections on most successful weekend ever for THM EPayMe Yamaha team at Brands Hatch
August 10th, 2016
I felt like the weekend went well and we have to look at the big picture. This was the first time I had actually raced, because at Snetterton I was involved in the crash at turn two. To get into Superpole again and qualify fourth was better than I had initially expected but a great result for me and the team. We changed something after warm up and in the race I was really in the mix with the guys and was running in the top five until the very end of the race when I got done and ended up sixth, but it’s so close in this championship. In race two we made another change between races and then for the first time in the weekend I kept feeling like I was going to lose the front and a few times I did rescue it. I was in a big battle with Dan Linfoot and Christian Iddon at the end and they have both been on the podium this year, so it just shows how tough these races can be, but I am happy with the progress we are making. We had some good input from what I experienced with the Yamaha at the Eight Hour which the team are working with and hopefully we can take another step forward.
