Podium in Silverstone from 18th on the grid
August 5th, 2012
It was a really good race, the weather here this weekend has been really unpredictable, in the end we had a dry race so that was good. They red flagged it after the first start, I'd made a really good start from 18th and I was up to 9th so I was a bit bummed as its happenned a couple of times this year. I just kept my head together then in the next start I got an even better start and through the first turn we got a good run and I was up in the front bunch. I think I was 6th or 7th then I came through to 4th for a lot of the race, the PTR Honda's were out in front and they were setting a really good pace. This weekend we haven't had a lot of dry time so we started with what we could put together from Friday morning's dry session and it went really well. Finally i got up to 3rd and Quarmby sat me up in the hairpin, that cost me a lot of time, I got stuck behind him again for another lap and I lost the front two. I worked as hard as I could at the end to get back to fight with them on the last lap but ran out of time. We finished 3rd, its really good to be be on the podium from that position on the grid, its good points, we got 4 rounds to go and we're in a good position to fight for top 3 in the championship. Disappointing qualifying at Silverstone after rain and traffic
August 4th, 2012
We had a few drama's during the qualifying, its been very tricky conditions here this weekend and we haven't been out of the top 6 all weekend. We just finished the qualifying in 18th so thats a big disaster really. It was really wet at the start of the session, I went out on track and did quite a few laps, the pace was ok but we went back to 7th or 8th maybe. At the end the track started to dry out quite quickly and we were in the box for a while, we put a new tyre in and went out, I went to go for a lap then got a lot of traffic and then I went to go again and it was raining so unfortunately we didn't get a good lap in and we ended up 18th. Its not good for the race tomorrow but we'll see what tomorrow brings. Click here to see the full video blog.

Preparation for Silverstone
August 3rd, 2012
I feel a bit better after the last race because the team worked on the bike a lot and we have a much more competitive bike so I am looking forward to Silverstone. They found improvements in both pace and race long performance. We improved the bike quite a bit even at the Aragon tests but they worked quite a bit on putting the power in different areas and it worked a lot better in Brno. We were in a good position at Brno but the race got called short. The main thing for me is that I feel more confident that we can battle at the front and that is what I want to ...   Read more...
