Set up improvements in qualifying for tomorrow's Misano MotoGP
September 13th, 2014
We just finished qualifying and it wasn’t too bad considering the last couple of races and this is one of my favourite tracks. We started off yesterday with wet conditions, the track was really tricky, there was no grip. I missed the first session, there were nine crashes in the first ten minutes so I didn’t bother going out. In the afternoon it rained again, I went out and did some laps and the feeling wasn’t too bad, I didn’t do anything stupid as we knew it was going to be nice and sunny today and tomorrow. Today was a bit slow to start with, the bike felt like the last couple of races but we made some good changes and have a pretty good set up for tomorrow. We’ve got a few things to try as the bikes still got the problem with the front end moving and the chatter, we just want the bike to be a bit more stable on the brakes so it’s a bit better over race distance. Basically feeling better and more confident for the race, hopefully if there’s some points to be taken I’ll try to be there to take them. Click here to watch the full video   Read more...

Set up problems in the MotoGP race at Silverstone
August 31st, 2014
Well just finished the MotoGP race here at Silverstone. Its been a pretty tough weekend, we struggled quite a bit during practice and qualifying and its probably been the hardest weekend for me this year, just no feeling from the front, so much movement from the front of the bike and so much chatter. We changed so many different things on the bike and to be honest its been like that for the last couple of races so it hasn't been an easy weekend. In the race we made some changes and tried to go forward, I had a better feelong in warm up but we still didn't arrive to the times, I didn't even have much of a battle with the guys I just tried to hang in there and put the best lap times I could together. At the end I started to catch Di Meglio and thought that I could pass him but I nearly highsided out of the last corner and I had to call it a day, there were no points on offer anyway. Misano is the next round, its one of my favourite circuits so hopefully we can go there and have better pace.

Crash ends Oschersleben 8hr race after charge to the front and fastest lap
August 23rd, 2014
Well unfortunately we crashed out at Oschersleben, it was on my second stint I was going quite quick and actually feeling pretty good on the bike. I haven't really had a good feeling with the front tyre all weekend, we tried to fix the bike, we changed quite a bit. I was trying to catch the front two, I caught GMT94 and overtook Checa and it was only a lap later I tried to go on the inside of a lapped rider, I passed him, he was out wide, I went into the corner on the dirty part of the track, probably the fastest corner on the track and I lost the front. The bike was too badly damaged to continue and I'm just sorry to the team and my teammate Michael (Laverty) because we had a guaranteed podium position. Thats racing sometimes.
