British Superbikes with Milwaukee Yamaha and the new R1 in 2015
November 22nd, 2014
I am really looking forward to next season with the Milwaukee Yamaha team. In the past I have had some great results with Yamaha and to be a part of the project with the new R1 is a real privilege. There have already been a lot of good reports so I am excited about 2015. The level of competition is really high in the championship - they are like World Champions on their own tracks. I know I have to learn them, but I want to do as much as I can before the season so I am in the best possible position. I want to be in the top six for the Showdown and I will be bringing my 'A-Game' with me!

No.23 finishes 23rd in the 2014 MotoGP world championship after final race in Valencia
November 9th, 2014
Just finished the final race of the 2014 MotoGP season, its been quite a tough up and down season. At the start of the year we knew we were going to be up against it with the bike and the size of the team. I was just really happy to get the option to come here its always been a life dream of mine to race with the best in the world and I’d like to thank Paul Bird for that, he gave me that opportunity and I gave it everything I had. Its definitely been an eye opener, I’ve learned a lot of stuff I can take into my future. The machinery we had this year was quite a different level to the top teams which we knew but I don’t think we expected it to be such a big difference sometimes. I was expecting a little bit better from the last part of my season but I had some quite big crashes so I’ve been on the back foot a bit at the last rounds. Today’s race was better, I felt quite good in the middle of the race and my lap times were really strong and then the rain came. I didn’t really push enough in the rain, I couldn’t really judge where I was at and I had battle at the back with Di Meglio. Michael was a little bit in front of me, he made quite a bit of ground during the rain. I finished equal on points with Michael and Di Meglio with 7 points at the end of the year and a best finish for the team with 11th in Assen which was the highlight of my year. I’d like to thank my ...   Read more...

Points finish in Malaysian MotoGP in Sepang despite injuries
October 27th, 2014
I struggled a lot more than I expected to because of my fitness but I'm still not getting on with this bike to be honest. My right shoulder meant that I couldn't go late on the brakes and there was times in the race that I didn't think that I could keep going, but I know that with so many people crashing out that there might be an opportunity for a point or two. I kept going but the pace that I had my shoulder just wasn't good. I had to ride my own race and saw so many riders going out. I still struggle so much with this bike with the chatter and having no feeling on the front and on the brakes. If I can't have that then I can't turn the bike but maybe some of that also came from my shoulder.  With these bikes if you can't plant the front wheel and put the weight over the front and go hard on the brakes you don't have a chance. Honestly I was just happy to finish and to score two points was a big bonus for me. Myself, Michael and di Meglio are now all on nine points so I guess at Valencia we'll have to get a bit serious! Unfortunately getting injured at Philip Island has hindered me now at the end of the year.  I had been hoping to have a good race at my home race but Valencia is also pretty close to home. I've learned a lot from my experience in GP this year and I know that you can't come here half-hearted because the competition is so stiff. I think that it's been good but I always wish ...   Read more...
