Highest placed regular EWC team and riders with 5th place overall for YART in the Suzuka 8hr
July 31st, 2017
We have to be happy, the four works bikes were the only bikes in front of us in the end. I think we all rode very well, we were very consistent, the times were very good and we couldn't have hoped for any more at this race. Unfortunately, we missed out on 2nd in the championship by one position today. In general, I think we have to be positive for the season. It's a brand-new team, with Marvin and Kohta coming in, we also had new tyres, so I think next year we will be even stronger. I think this year we were the strongest team in most races, so hopefully we can eliminate the problems and be stronger for next year. From this race, we could not have achieved anything more. Thanks to YART, Yamaha, Bridgetone, Arai, Alpinestars and my team mates for their support this year.

July 29th, 2017
I did a great lap (2'07"634) in superpole pushing the Yamaha R1 number 7 into 6th place just behind all the specialist factory teams. Thanks to my team mates who were also fast, all YART and Yamaha staff, Ohlins, Bridgestone and all sponsors.

Suzuka 8hour testing complete for YART ahead of the race
July 26th, 2017
We had a very good three days of testing. From the first test to today we improved the package and made the bike really comfortable, so we feel really positive. We did a race run and the lap times were very consistent, and actually quite good on average I think compared to the other teams. That’s because of Kohta and my experience here, which was also good because we could help Marvin since it’s his first time here. I think now we can be happy and pretty much come to the race with confidence. All three of us have shown good pace, and we have also been very consistent, which is so key in endurance racing, our aim is to try and fight in the top five and push for the podium if at all possible. All three of us have shown good pace, and we have also been very consistent, which is so key in endurance racing, our aim is to try and fight in the top five and push for the podium if at all possible. For us, it is a case of just going all out to get the best result possible in the race and trying to not worry about the championship. Of course, at the back of our minds will be the thought we could be champions, but honestly, our focus is just to go all out for this race and then we will see what happens with the championship.
